Bridget and Josh braved the sporadic Atlanta cold for their Old Fourth Ward engagement session in January. Despite the chill, we had a blast playing in the lovely winter light!
I met Bridget, Josh and Cara back in the fall to get to know them and talk wedding photography. Along the way, I’ve loved learning bits and pieces about them from my questionnaires, emails and even social media. I like them a whole lot…probably because we have lots in common: introverts, lovers of cooking and eating, exploring Atlanta, Game of Thrones and much, much more. But our photo shoot really sealed the deal. 🙂
We met at the park and made a lap. I loved capturing Bridget and Josh as they relived parts of their first date, like pausing on the bridge where they had their first kiss. When Cara wasn’t jumping in on the front-of-camera fun, she was behind the lens with me shooting her own Fisher Price camera. I spy a budding assistant!
Before I shoot, I scout every location to familiarize myself with the area, the light, potential obstacles and fun ideas. Therefore, I always come prepared with a game plan. This was no exception. The day before, I explored the area and knew it would be easy and fun to snag a few funky shots by the murals. I think it really paid off! Some of my favorite images were made tucked away in a corner by Ponce City Market. By the end of the shoot, my creative juices were flowing and Bridget and Josh were having fun and feeling comfortable. They especially appreciated some of my more quirky, weird captures that are signature “Ashton.” Mission accomplished!
The love between Bridget and Josh (and Cara!) is sweet and palpable. We had such a blast pushing boundaries and creating fun, interesting images for their engagement session. I cannot WAIT to photograph their spring wedding at the Solarium in Decatur! As with all of my wonderful couples, I know Bridget and Josh’s wedding day will be be fun-filled and incredibly meaningful. It’s truly a privilege to share in and document life’s big adventures for my clients.
